HISTORY OF BALI MUSEUM
The Museum was founded in 1910 by w.f.j. Kroon. The form of the museum architecture is a mix between the temple and the Castle. Established
over an area of 2600 m2 consists of 3 pages, namely: the outer yard
(jaba), Centerfold (jaba tengah) and the inner courtyard (offal) bounded
by wall and gate.On the page there are 3 pieces
of the building that houses of Tabanan, Karangasem and Buleleng Building
used to show off the collection. The Museum
officially opened to the public on December 8, 1932, under the name of
Bali Museum and managed by Yayasan Bali Museum.
August
17, 1945 the Bali Museum was taken over by the local Government of Bali
and then on 5 January 1965 was handed over to the Central Government
under the Directorate General of culture the Ministry of education and
culture with the name of the State Museum of Bali.
In
1969 the Museum got the help project a lamp with an expansion into a
6,000 m2 and add to the exhibition hall, called the East building. Since
the autonomous region 2000 State Museum Bali province handed back to
the Government of the province of Bali with the name for. Museum Bali. And since the year 2008 for the Bali Museum changed its name to UPT. Museum Bali.
THE CAST COLLECTION.
Museum
Bali collection consists largely of ethnografi objects in the form of
supplies religious ceremonies, dance, guardian of the Holy buildings,
which have in common with the sacred still function in today's society. Collections are styled according to the kensep "Trimandala" (main Mandala, Mandalas, Mandya Crime Mandala). in
the framework of the application of the Trimandala concept, object that belongs to the sacred in society in tata at the Tabanan and Karangasem. Traditional Balinese fabrics, exhibited in the building of Buleleng that are considered the central part of the Museum. Which is not sacred or common as art collection (painting, sculpture, crafts). A
collection that is associated with prehistoric relics (sarcopagus/crate
bodies of stone, grave armed) laid out in the East building.
